Colonel Steve Mathias, USA, Retired
An Aerospace Defense Executive at GKN Aerospace, Steve leads the company’s Strategy and Growth – Defense. Prior to joining GKN Aerospace – Defense, Steve led the current product Business Development at Bell.
Steve retired in 2014 as the United States Army Special Operations Command G8. His Special Operations and Conventional Forces background included assignments at the Joint Special Operations Command, United States Special Operations Command, United States Army Special Operations Command and serving as a plank holder at the Army Special Operations Aviation Command. Originally from Russell, Iowa, Steve graduated from Truman State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and later earned master’s degrees from Webster University and the United States Army War College.
Steve has served in multiple overseas assignments and combat tours to Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as several other European and Southwest Asia locations. He is the proud husband of a world class Army Spouse (Pam) and father of two amazing Army Brats, Bailey (Husband: Tyler) and Chance (wife: Catherine). Son Chance is an Army Aviator.
