“Because of SOWF, I’ve been able to pursue my degree in Criminal Justice to further my career and support my family. After graduating high school, I previously attended another university but was unable to finish and complete my degree in Criminal Justice. Thank you for all you have done to support families and students like myself. Even though I was progressing in my career, not being able to show my parents a degree was always in the back of my mind.
On April 8th, 2013, my father, Command Sergeant Major Fernan Castelo, tragically passed away. His death shook the foundations of my life, my family and many other loved ones that cared for my father.
