Looking back, SOWF has supported our family since 2004. When I was in high school, my brother Billy and I attended SOWF’s Operation EPIC – this high school to college transition conference provided valuable insight into college applications, the FAFSA, and helped each of us coordinate practical aspects of our educational journey, including setting up our eBenefits accounts. Most importantly, the interactive opportunity connected us with other surviving children. It was an experience I will never forget.
Billy and I each went on to attend The Citadel. I graduated last year with a degree in Business Administration and Management. My brother is completing his senior year and is expected to graduate next month with a degree in Business Intelligence.
Following graduation, I commissioned into the US Army. I completed the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course at Fort Benning, GA before being assigned as an Infantry Platoon Leader in 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Polk, LA. And I am happy to report that my wife Kassidy and I recently welcomed our second son, Aiden, this September.
I can’t thank SOWF enough for the opportunities they have provided to our family, and we are appreciative that they have remained connected with us, every step of the way – SOWF is so special to our family. We also want to express our gratitude to all the donors who have made our road to success possible. Now looking to the future, and on behalf of my mom Rebecca, Billy, and me, we truly thank you!
