Operation EPIC and C2CT Prepare SOWF Students for Their Futures

A scholarship can open the door to an education. But preparing a young person to walk confidently through that door—and to navigate everything that comes afterward—requires something more. It requires encouragement, trusted relationships, practical guidance, and a community that continues to show up.

That is what Special Operations Warrior Foundation’s summer programs are designed to provide. This year, Operation EPIC (Educational Planning and Informational Conference) and College-to-Career Transition, known as C2CT, brought students together at two important stages of their educational journeys: high school students beginning to imagine what may be possible, and college students preparing to turn years of study into meaningful careers and independent adult lives.

Operation EPIC 2026

Operation EPIC was held July 11–18 at the University of South Florida. During the weeklong experience, students explored college life, strengthened leadership and communication skills, considered future academic and career paths, and formed relationships with peers who understand the unique experiences of SOWF families.

For many participants, the most meaningful discovery was that they did not have to navigate the future alone. Mentors and SOWF staff created a supportive environment where students could ask honest questions, try new things, learn from setbacks, and recognize strengths they may not yet have seen in themselves.

Just two weeks later, SOWF welcomed college students and recent graduates to Tampa for C2CT, held July 31–August 4. The program focused on the transition from college to career, offering practical preparation for résumés, interviews, professional networking, workplace expectations, financial independence, and the decisions that accompany life after graduation.

C2CT 2026

C2CT also reinforced something that cannot be taught through a résumé workshop: belonging. Students connected with professionals, mentors, SOWF staff, and one another. They shared their ambitions and uncertainties, learned from people who had successfully navigated similar transitions, and left with a wider network invested in their success.

Together, Operation EPIC and C2CT demonstrate what the SOWF mission looks like in action. Educational funding remains the promise at the heart of our work, but the promise extends beyond tuition. It means helping students develop the confidence, relationships, and readiness to pursue lives of purpose.
