General (Ret.) Christopher T. Donahue Joins Special Operations Warrior Foundation Board of Directors
Distinguished military leader brings decades of Special Operations experience and an enduring
commitment to service
TAMPA, FL, September 2, 2026 — Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) is proud to announce
that General (Ret.) Christopher T. Donahue has joined its Board of Directors.
Gen. Donahue brings more than three decades of distinguished military service and extensive leadership
experience to the Foundation. Throughout his career, he held command and staff positions at every level
and completed numerous assignments within the Special Operations community.
Most recently, Gen. Donahue served as Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe and Africa and
Commander of NATO Allied Land Command. His previous assignments included Commanding General of
XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Liberty; Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne Division; Commanding
General of NATO Special Operations Component Command–Afghanistan and Special Operations Joint
Task Force–Afghanistan; Director of Operations for Joint Special Operations Command; and Deputy
Director for Special Operations and Counterterrorism on the Joint Staff.

firsthand understanding of the sacrifices made by our Warriors and their families will be invaluable to

Gen. Donahue’s extensive operational and strategic leadership experience will support the Board’s work
to advance the Foundation’s mission, strengthen its programs, and ensure SOWF continues to fulfill its
enduring promise to the families it serves.

Gen. Donahue is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and was commissioned
as an infantry officer in 1992. He holds a master’s degree from the Naval War College and completed an
Army War College Fellowship at Harvard University.

the children of fallen or widowed Special Operations Personnel and Medal of Honor Recipients to honor
their service and sacrifice. The Foundation also provides immediate financial assistance to severely
