FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 11, 2026
Tampa, Florida — Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) proudly recognizes the impact of a grant from Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) that has been fully invested in direct support for wounded, ill, and injured active-duty Special Operations Personnel.
Thanks to this generous funding, SOWF provided seven immediate financial assistance stipends and ten iPads to Special Operators who were hospitalized due to wounds, illnesses, or injuries sustained while serving our nation.
SOWF’s Wounded, Ill, and Injured Program provides immediate assistance to active-duty Special Operations personnel requiring hospitalization. Each eligible service member receives a $6,000 stipend to help offset unexpected expenses associated with their recovery, as well as an iPad to maintain communication with loved ones, access resources, and stay connected during treatment and rehabilitation.
“Every wounded, ill, or injured Special Operator has a story of service, sacrifice, and resilience,” said ADM (Ret.) Jamie Sands, President and CEO of Special Operations Warrior Foundation. “The support provided through Wounded Warrior Project’s grant allowed us to respond quickly when these Warriors needed assistance most. We are honored to join Wounded Warrior Project in caring for those who have given so much for our country.”
Since 2006, SOWF has provided immediate financial assistance and support to more than 1,300 wounded, ill, or injured active-duty Special Operations Personnel. SOWF remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting Special Operators and their families during times of crisis.
SOWF extends its sincere gratitude to Wounded Warrior Project for its partnership and dedication to improving the lives of America’s wounded service members and their families.
