The atmosphere was both heartfelt and inspiring at Special Operations Warrior Foundation’s Honoring America’s Finest: Their Service, Sacrifice, and Legacy, as supporters, families, and members of the Special Operations community gathered to recognize the extraordinary sacrifices made by our nation’s Warriors and their loved ones.
Throughout the evening, we proudly recognized and honored the SOWF families in attendance, reflecting on the service and sacrifice their loved ones have given in defense of our nation. Their strength, resilience, and legacy remain at the heart of SOWF’s mission.
The evening featured a moving address from Rear Admiral (Ret.) Ryan Perry, who shared the profound impact SOWF has had on him and his children following the passing of his wife. His heartfelt remarks served as a powerful reminder of the Foundation’s enduring commitment to standing beside surviving families through every stage of life. We are deeply honored to serve the Perry family and grateful to Admiral Perry for joining us and sharing his family’s story.
Major General Clay Hutmacher addressed the room as he said farewell to his role as President & CEO of the Foundation. While this marked the close of an important chapter of our leadership, his dedication and presence will continue as he joins SOWF’s Board of Directors. His unwavering commitment to our families and mission has left a lasting impact on the Foundation and the community it serves.
The evening also celebrated The Honorable John F. Lehman, Secretary of the Navy (Retired), as the recipient of the Legacy of Service Award in recognition of his notable contributions to and steadfast support of the Special Operations community.
We are grateful to all who joined us in honoring America’s finest and helping advance SOWF’s promise to provide educational funding and advocacy to the children of fallen or widowed Special Operations Personnel and Medal of Honor Recipients in order to honor their service and sacrifice.
