EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Colonel (Ret.) Sean J. Corrigan serves as the Executive Vice President of the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Since joining SOWF in May 2019, COL Corrigan has played a pivotal role in advancing the foundation’s mission.

Prior to his tenure at SOWF, COL Corrigan retired from the U.S. Army after a distinguished 30-year career. His final military assignment was as the Director of Special Activities (J3X) at U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). Throughout his service, he held numerous key leadership positions, including Commander of the Joint Operations Group Central (JOG-C) within Special Operations Command Central, Chief of Staff and Chief of Current Operations at Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), and Commander of Special Operations Command Forward in Yemen. He also served in various capacities within a U.S. Army Special Mission Unit, including Deputy Commander, Squadron Commander, and Troop Commander.

COL Corrigan’s operational experience spans multiple major conflicts, having led troops in combat during Operations Just Cause (Panama), Desert Shield and Desert Storm (Saudi Arabia and Iraq), Joint Endeavor (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), and Iraqi Freedom (Iraq). His military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Ranger Tab, Special Forces Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Military Freefall Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and the Combat Infantryman Badge with a second award.

A 1988 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, COL Corrigan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics. He later obtained a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College in 2001, graduating with distinction. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina–Aiken in 2021.

His professional military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Ranger School, Special Forces Qualification Course, Armor Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms Service Support School, Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) Course, and a U.S. Army War College Fellowship at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
