Dick is a Veteran of the U.S. Army (1970-1972) and served as a Sergeant with the Combat Engineers in Berlin, Germany.

He is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology, with a degree in Business Administration. He spent his career at Moore Corporation from 1972-2001. He was President of Moore Response Marketing Services from 1996-2001. He then transitioned to Executive VP of Openfirst, a direct marketing company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 2003-2012. Dick retired from business in 2012.

Dick is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Janice. They have three children, Jennifer (Zagorski) Thomas, Robert Zagorski, and Michael Zagorski, and have 6 grandchildren.

SOWF was recommended to Dick by Craig and Bryan Brotchie, and Dick became involved in SOWF when his son Michael earned his Green Beret.

Dick and his team have run an annual fundraising event for SOWF in Lake Geneva, WI at Geneva National Golf Club since 2012, and exceeded $1 Million raised this past August (2024).
