An SOWF Family Chat

In what was a very special opportunity on the recent national Giving Tuesday, SOWF President and CEO MG (Ret) Clay Hutmacher was interviewed on DC News Now by morning news anchor and SOWF graduate student, Taniya Wright.

Taniya’s father, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant James Berkeley Wright, was killed in a training accident on August 5, 1987, when Taniya was just four years old. After his passing, Taniya later went on to experience the various programs and services offered by SOWF, and attended the University of South Florida, where she graduated with a degree in Mass Communications in 2006. She has since worked in assorted media markets across the country as a television news anchor and now has a family of her own.

Thank you, Taniya, as well as the entire team at DC News Now, for hosting MG (Ret) Hutmacher, and providing him with the opportunity to share the history of SOWF, and how the Foundation continues to honor the legacy of America’s Finest by taking care of their children with full educations, now and in the future.
