May 24: Capt. Derek Argel Memorial Barbecue (Santa Ynez, California)The Maverick Saloon on Sagunto Street in Santa Ynez will host the Capt. Derek Argel Memorial Barbeque first annual fundraiser, May 24 from 11am – 4 pm. Come out and salute warriors who have given their lives for freedom. All proceeds benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Antique cars and motorcycles will be on display. June 14: 6th Annual Special Operations Adventure Race (Highlands, NC)The Special Operations Warriors Foundation will again be the beneficiary of proceeds from the Special Operations Adventure Race (SOAR) to be held in Highlands, in the beautiful Western mountains of North Carolina on Saturday, June 14, 2008. This year’s event is limited to 120 participants. This year’s event will feature two separate races: a sprint race (5-7 hours) and an elite race (10-12 hours). |
